Common problem with projector retro? Or just me?

What I did was tighten them with the glass lens off and I held the projector in place with my hand until I got them snugged down. Then I plugged them up to check the cutoff and to make any small adjustments before I put them back in the oven.

great I have to bake them again...........

I have the same setup and never had a problem with anything coming loose.

Question: Why would tightening the nut more, make them crooked?

because when you tighten the nut it will spin the projector and make the cutoff line crooked.

I understand that they can probably be tighter but how do I keep the projector level? whenever I try and tighten them the get all crooked!

I do it with the lenses off. Its the only way to keep them straight.

If you don't want to bake them again, this might* work:
(I don't know if the proper thread and size nuts are available but assuming they are)
(Also Assuming the projectors are properly aligned)
Mark them to the housing with a Sharpie.
Get two nuts in the proper thread size and lock them on to the threading of the projector.
Then using two wrenches tighten the lock ring while holding the projector in place via the locked nut.

*This could also be a pointless waste of time and effort, I have not tried this just an idea that came to mind. Its similar to adjusting a bicycle hub bearing

Yes. The Morimoto mini H1 and D2S kits are easy to install.

You just have to cut these things off.

some of The new ballast that were sent out do not ignite when they are cold, they have new ones in stock and are shipping them out.

Do I need to contact them so they send me the new ones or will they just show up at my door?

huh.... and to think i spent an entire day dremeling, drilling, screwing, and gluing (epoxy and puddy) 2 headlights.... well i guess that's the whole "work smarter not harder" thing isn't it..... :redbrick:
