Complete 2001 4Runner SR5 Bulb List

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all 3rd gens roughly the same? This should still be good for a 2002 4runner right?

Thanks OP

vm_boy every single one of the bulbs was a tight fit. Try taking some pliers and compressing the contacts a tiny bit. And from what I gathered, most bulbs were the same across different model years for the 3rd gens.

Anyone have info on what bulbs would vary for the 2000 models?

I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but I got busy. I bought a box of (10) 2721 bulbs off of Amazon. I only needed 3, but the box of 10 was cheaper than two blister packs of two at the parts stores. It took about 6 weeks to get here, though. I finally go around to putting the bulbs in and they fit perfectly...no forcing, no pliers...just pop right in. So if you're planning on replacing your glove box, shifter, ash tray and some of the other bulbs with regular incandescent bulbs, I would recommend buying that 10-pack of 2721 bulbs off of Amazon. Then you'll have some extras for later on down the road.

Do you have any pictures of the key ring light? Mine's been out ever since I got the truck and I haven't found anything about being able to replace it, in fact, last I heard, you'd have to replace the whole assembly, not just the bulb.

If this has already been covered, can someone point me in the right direction?

In my '01 I replaced just the bulb. It is a #74.

Sorry to revive a 10+ old month thread, but it seems to be the most recent one discussing the hazard light.

As I type, I have the hazard button assembly here, along with a NEO3 LED bulb. Short of some Exacto knife work, I don't see how this bulb will fit.

For those who did so, what bulb did you use, and from what manufacturer or vendor?

Thanks much.

Pretty sure I used one of these:

https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ulb-high-power-instrument-panel-led/221/1005/

Though I would take that with a grain of salt since that was years ago.

I do remember not liking the brightness afterwards using that bulb. Ended up using a reflective paint inside the hazard button to reflect more of the light outwards. Worked quite well actually.

I would not recommend buying from superbrightleds as the wisely of their bulbs is awful.

Thanks for chiming-in so promptly!

Well... That's what I just managed to install, I suppose unfortunately, given what you just shared. It took some squeezing, but I got it in there.

Would you mind clarifying that last sentence? Sounds like that SBL bulb was too directional and did not emit enough light out the button...

Thanks again.

Sorry I meant to type 'quality'. Silly autocorrect.

Ya, thats exactly the boat I was in. Don't even bother taking the bulb out. Just cover the led with a bit of masking tape, and spray some shiny paint in there.

I will hopefully confirm in a bit that the bulb works, do a 180 if necessary...

So, from what you explain, it sounds like the button comes-off. With some better lighting, I'll take a look.

Not sure I'll dig-out the passenger seat belt light. There's also the security light (flashing red) next to it...
