Pioneer makes good stuff, I have a different model, but I'm overall happy with it. You'll also need a steering wheel control interface. I have the ASWC

Ya forgot about the Steering Wheel 1 Thanks man...
I would suggest trying one of the other JBL amp interface adapters. I had the TYTO-01 and the volume would fluctuate and cut in and out. After a month or two of using the TYTO I ended getting rid of the JBL amp and going aftermarket.
I believe Schosche makes a similar adapter and maybe some other companies too. Whether the work better than the TYTO, I am not sure.

I got it for Free thats why I was going to use it. I gave up on the T10004 and Sold it so hopefully I can get something in there soon. The main thing I want is Bluetooth and such. Have to figure out how to get my CD's out of the Current system as Nothing happens when I try to eject. Thanks for the info.:drum:

Not with the 270BT. If you're searching at Crutchfield and have an Android, look for the Android Control filter and select Through MirrorLink. These will connect to your phone through an MHL/HDMI cable and just mirror the screen, so whatever app you have open will display on the head unit. I believe all of these receivers will have some form of screen mirroring, consult with support at Crutchfield to verify, they were super helpful when I was picking out my unit.
First thing I did when I got my 4Runner was drop in a Kenwood DDX7701HD which uses the MirrorLink system mentioned above. I can take some pictures or videos of it in action in regards to app interface if anyone is interested.

Mirror link is trash, from all make and models. You need a third party app on your phone to run mirror link and the whole thi,g is glitch and doesn't work well. Get the pioneer 270bt, it has all the basic features without all the bells and whistle from the xx700 series.
If you really want navi, get a separate unit, like a Tom tom. Or just use your phone and receive directions on your HU via BT.

This Stuff is all New to Me Thanks Man. If I can Get the stuff to work With BT that would be Cool...I use my phone for Nav so if it will work with BT then all the Better.
I think I'm going to give up on the fancy stuff, too and just go with the 270BT or 2700BS units. they seem similar. I think just having BT and a touch screen will be a serious update over my 2004 OEM radio.
I rented a car this weekend and had my phone connected to the radio. I was able to answer a call, listen to Google Music and get Waze alerts all over the radio. I think I'd be just fine with that. If I need the nav, I'll just look down at the phone.

I can't speak for Pioneer from personal experience, but I have heard that the AppRadio stuff is garbage. My Kenwood does require a separate app, but it's very unobtrusive, and not glitchy at all. I'm a visual person, so I prefer being able to look at the screen and see where I need to make turns, rather than have the music fade out for nav to make audio announcements (this actually annoys the hell out of me). Plus, I'm able to keep the phone off the dash and keep it from being exposed to direct sun and overheating. It's not a perfect system, but it's a vast improvement for me.
TomTom, on the other hand, always directs me to the closest Christmas tree farm. :crazy:

If your looking for a barebone DD with rear camera capabilities and BT, then get the 270bt.
But if you want more features for just a fraction more (ebay). Then go for the 2700bs. Pandora, sirus ready, Mirrorlink, 4v preout, and a pretty good processor, if your a stereo enthusiast. I would opt for the 2700, for a little more.

I dont care for appradios or Navi units. I want a DD with great processing power. Probably won't happen though, every company makes and markets high end DD's, are doing it for the people that wants gunk loads of app features and navi.
I was expecting more from mirrorlink, just like a lot of people did too. I thought it would actually mirror my phone, but it doesn't. It renders your phone pretty much useless, except for navi, phone, and music stored on your phone.
Its just that the tech isn't there yet. I haven't tried to again ever since the first time, I don't like useless apps on my phone, slowing it down.
But if it does all that you need, then thats good.

I got mine refurbed, so it was quite a bit cheaper than that.
Mine does mirror my phone - I can open any app and the video appears on screen, and the audio comes through the speakers. Both the phone and the unit are fully operable, although the unit doesn't support multi-touch. I don't even see the Kenwood app unless I want to re-calibrate the screen. I will say that one thing that bothers me is that the phone's screen must remain on through all of this.
I don't know when the first time you tried it was, but technology is a vastly expanding field. If you fall asleep for a moment, you're going to miss a lot. Then again, I do have a $600 unit, a lot of the ones we're talking about retail for half of that, so it could very well be the case that the features I experience haven't trickled down to the less expensive models yet.
I'm not advocating one way or another, I'm just trying to insure everyone who's looking is as well informed as possible. Again, I don't mind taking a video showing it in action, or even just taking some pictures so people can see it installed. No sweat off my back.
