I ordered my RCI sliders through Toytec (authorized dealer) and received them in 4 DAYS I love them. Love the service from Toytec. Love the service from RCI. And loved the forum discount and low overall price.

Mine took over 3mos to get but then again it was during there Huge GB during Thanksgiving holidays but that was expected and I'm even local. I know they have huge accts outside of the Toyota offroad community but definitely should have communicated to you better. Packing dept is definitely lacking from those pix. I was fortunate to have mine personally delivered from another TW members. Well, it's time for you to prep them and put them on ASAP!

Painted them and installed them last night, I'll have better pictures soon, it was dark when I finished last night

I'm trying to decide what to do with my sliders once I order and receive them. I'm on the fence about getting a crinkle powder coating or Line-X bed lining on them. Thoughts?

from my own personal experience: be careful with the areas you select to put linex on.
Fastener holes: probably shouldnt linex unless you want to remove the linex to fit the bolts through the holes
Slider side that butts up to the frame: probably shouldnt linex to create the tightest fit to the frame
the rest of it will likely be fine to linex but the areas above i would think long and hard about before linex'ing...
ask me how i know via PM, this thread isnt for my personal rants, even though some other members seem to think otherwise...

Well finally got my sliders today, after 14 weeks and 5 days, the sliders showed up at my house like this (keep in mind that when I spoke to jerry via email, he said 6-8 weeks, and seemed very concerned with ups damaging them) no wonder customers are complaining about scratches, they aren't even packaged at all.

Not trying to be a jerk, but why are you concerned about UPS scratching your sliders? You're presumably going to paint them and then go drag them across rocks, right?

I couldn't care less, but about 4 times he tried to talk me into spending an extra 100 on freight because he said ups tends to scratch them up, which i don't care about unless they are actually bent. But the reason customers are complaining about scratches, is because they send them wide open with no box.

That makes sense. I don't know who those customers are who are complaining about scratches, unless they had them powdercoated.

How much did you guys pay for your BAMF sliders? Their shipping calculator doesn't work. Want the sliders w/ kick out. I'll have them coated locally.
Do the BAMF sliders require any removal of the mud flaps or trimming of the rocker panels? Extra drilling?

I ordered my BudBuilt sliders regular bump outs with fully plated tread and couldn't have been more pleased with the customer service and quality of the product. I did have to disconnect the brake and kdss brackets and gas tank skid plate and do some filing on the edges of the gas tank skid plate, but with the correct tools it was not a challenge. They were projected to take 3-4 weeks and only took 3 weeks to arrive. They look great and have already protected the vehicle on the trail. They do not act as a running boards though as they are too high on the car to act as such

You should be good. Straight bolt on without modification on the 2014+ and enough room to clear mudflaps I think. I had to reroute one line on the frame, but that was simple.
I'm local so I didn't ship, but they're heavy. I mean heavy. The plates wrap around the side and bottom of the frame. Anyway, email Jerry, dude is responsive.

Slee Sliders
It's been a couple weeks since I installed them, but I wanted to share some photos of my truck with these sliders.
I spent a lot of time researching and asking around, and ultimately went with the Slee slider option because:
So far, love them, couldn't be happier.
Others remarked that they were on the expensive side, but after adding in the tread plating, powder coating and any other options to get them to a similar grade of function for me, many of the other options were close in price and NOT immediately available.
I'm a big believer in personal experience and testimony, so I called the one guy I knew had used them on his adventure rig to get his take. Paul from Equipt Expedition Outfitters (where I got my K9 rack) used these sliders on his 5th gen and couldn't say enough good things about them.
I'll update more in my build/adventure thread about the installation, etc.

So this might be a simple question (or stupid) and I have just missed the answer while scanning through the posts here, but I see when looking at sliders, some manufacturers have them available for T4Rs with KDSS but not without, is it possible to use a "with KDSS" slider on a T4R without KDSS?

Hey guys, this thread seemed like a good place to get the word out. I'm selling my Bud Built Bump outs with full tread plate. KDSS with factory powder coat. I have had them on my 4Runner for about 4 years. They honestly have never seen a rock touch them and my wife and Inlaws are always stumbling over them so I think getting some rigid running boards makes more sense. I'm going to make a far sale thread with pics. Local pickup only in Sf Bay Area. Not sure what used sliders go for but if you have clean rigids I would trade for them and want around $450.

I think you have a great set up there....and I wouldn't change a thing. The Slee's have been on my list for awhile...I know they're a couple of bucks more, but they do stock them as you pointed out.
I guessing you installed these yourself, bolted them together and bolted them on the truck, do you feel they would be able to handle the weight of the truck if you were to put a HiLift under them and jack one side of the ground?....and how do feel about the amount of hardware required to put them together....do feel they would "drag" over an obstacle?
