You shouldn't be...Toyota apparently knew about the bad camshafts and still release the Tundra 5.7L V8 to the public. Toyota is good, but they are not immune to "domestic-like" mistakes.

Yeah, I naively assumed that a company that prides itself on quality would fix known problems early, before they could tarnish the company's reputation.

But it also depends on what you call "foreign." Which is more foreign -- the Camry made in Kentucky or the Chrysler made in Canada? Or does it matter that Toyota is traded on the New York Stock Exchange?

Oh I agree ,he's just from a different generation i guess. Bottom line the final $$ go to Japan. Thank God my grandfather is not alive , he probably would never speak to me again for buying a Toyota .... lol.

New TSB for ES350 tranny: TSB BR004-006. This is an updated one as of Nov. 6, 2007. Replaced the old TSB of the same number.

Therefore, as of 11/6/07, the tranny issue has NOT been resolved. I think that this means some 2008 ES350 models are affected. Many ES owners hope that this last TSB will solve the problem because the previous ones have not. This is kinda like the rear clunk issue that GX470 (and 4runner) owners have been complaining about...Lexus issued lots of TSB trying to fix it the cheap way before agreeing to fix it for everyone (Lexus owner that is). Unfortunately, there are a lot of ES owners out there...so, it would likely be too costly to repair/replace every ES tranny (similar to Toyota denying 4runner owners of the rear clunk fix).
