control arm hitting toytec coil?

I just installed the toytec/eibach front springs with adjustable bilstein 5100s from toytec and I noticed when testing the system out that when going over bumps, particularly with the wheel turned a bit, that a part of the control arm that protrudes medially towards the coil makes contact with the coil and has scraped some of the finish off.

I thought the issue was with the UCA contacting the inner edge of the tire, I am clear there, but I am concerned about the coil scraping on the suspension. It has happened on both sides. Or does the tire just appear to clear and is somehow impacting something I am not aware of? Could the tire somehow be hitting the UCA and then causing that to hit the coil?

What did I do wrong?

Let me check mine in the morning I have the same setup just with the heavy duty coils. I to have a knocking sound but only on the drivers side.

Thanks, it made sort of a knocking/burping sound that I have to assume was the almost simultaneous knocking of both points. These are the "new" coils with the toytec logo on them, no idea if anything changed about them. Very concerning, particularly since I was going to take it on a wheeling trip up north all weekend...

Turn the spring so that where the ball joint/spindle would be contacting is in between the wraps of the spring.

Hmm, good idea I will try turning it but it seemed to happen under load so I wonder if it will just occur earlier/later in the flex.

Would it be safe to grind down that bit of metal sticking out or is that integral to the structural rigidity? It seems odd to me that this system which is meant for this truck would have this issue on both sides unless something is out of spec or I somehow installed incorrectly?

I have the same setup and mine dont knock or rub or making any kind of noise. maybe you didnt install the coils with the springs where they are supposed to be?
