Controlling Additional Lights with Puddle Lamp Circuit - Done....Safely!

Sorry....I meant to say the rock lights. SMH. I have since moved the SwitchPro to my 2021 and I moved it to the top of the panel to left of steering wheel. Mounted it with 3M tape and drilled hole for the wiring. I like this location much better. I know SDHQ makes a replacement panel specifically for mounting the SwitchPro in this location, but it is not needed. It is way over priced. And if you remove the SwitchPro a replacement panel from Toyota is only $40.

Hi [MENTION=4307]matoolie[/MENTION]! If you catch this was wondering if you can sort me out. I have received all the components to make this happen and now I am trying to map it out by looking at your pic. My brain is frying matching up your pic to your circuit drawing.
Questions:
1. Pin 2 from the SSR is the green wire with the diode inline which goes to pin 86 in the drawing but looks like it goes to pin 85 of the mechanical relay? I believe you can reverse those two with no issue but did you wire to pin 2 to 85 or 86?

2. Pin 2 of the SSR the cap is wrapped between post 2 and post 4 correct?

Bonus question...
Looking at how you designed the 2 relays, can I take the trigger output of the SSR and also use it in the exact output with the diode and connect it to a second mechanical relay which would also work the same, use the trigger and switched 12V power (not using the puddle circuit power, only want the trigger. Example - trip the puddles, it can turn on the rock lights AND with the other trigger, activate the other relay to turn on power for footwells/cargo lights. I would also be able to trigger the footwells/cargo with a manual switch. Have i lost my mind or is this not an issue?

1. Pin 2 from SSR is going to pin 86. The white diagram on the relay just shows the how the pins in the relay are electrically connected. Does not reference the location of the actual pins. But yes you should be able to reverse 85 and 86 without issue.

2. Yes the cap is across pins 2 and 4. In my wiring diagram, it appears the pin numbering on the SSR diagram is not correct. Pins 3 and 4 should be reversed. Pin 3 is bottom left and pin 4 is top left.

You should be able to connect the trigger output from SSR to another relay using another wire and diode as long as the total current going to the coils of both relays is less than load rating of the SSR, which is 3A I believe.

Let's see if this will let me post some pics. I took your circuit layout and used my Paint skills to modify it to represent what I was talking about above. Basically since the cap on the SSR is keeping the voltage constant, the output trigger and subsequent triggers will not have the PWM effect (in my head at least)...

The factory puddle lights just do not shut off. They dim and then off. “Theatre” lighting as some describe. The output of the SSR drops off as the puddle lights dim. As the output of the SSR powers the coil on the relay, the relay will begin to power off slowly as the output on the SSR drops and the relay will begin to buzz. The cap will continue to provide sufficient power during this time and stop the buzzing. When it is discharged, it acts like an instant off switch and the relay opens cleanly without buzzing.
