Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 255/80/17 Skinnies

Thinking about getting these exact tires.

I have a stock 15 TE, will this size tire fit on my t4r as is without rubbing? Looks like you and others with these have lifts as well.

Just put the 255/80/17's on a stock 16 trail. No rubbing at all. Nothing at full lock either way going forward and in reverse there is nothing. As far as clearance in the front I have about the width of a normal size thumb of space in the wheel well at full lock either way. the Rear clearance is fine too. I'm happy with the 255's

You do not have to do any thing. No lift, or spacers. Im running 255/80/17's on stock trail wheels with no rubbing anywhere. I been on the highway with them and around town with nothing at all in regards to rubbing issues. I have about the width or a normal size thumb at full lock either way from anything important. No rubbing on the well liners or med flaps either.

Sorry but there is no way you are running 255/80/17 on stock TE wheels with no lift and not rubbing like crazy. Even with 2" of lift up front I still rub under full lock.

I am running LT255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx tires on stock trail wheels. No lift. I had them put on yesterday and I was amazed that there wasn't any. I thought there was going to be some rubbing for sure, but there was none. Even the mechanic was amazed to see everything was clear.

So These are picture of a stock 2016 4runner trail with KDSS. In the picture the tires are Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx in size LT255/80/17 mounted on the stock trail wheels. As you can see from the pictures (taken from an iphone 6s) The tires do not rub anything a full lock. I have tested going forward and also in reverse turning the wheel all the way over in both directions to try and get rub, but there isn't anything rubbing. No BMC, or fender work was done to fit the tire in the well. The suspension is also stock. I will be upgrading the suspension in the next two week to a Toytec suspension. I too have the Cooper 255/80R17 on stock TE wheels with no rubbing issues at all.

I have 5100s at 2.5" (front) and 1.5" rear coil spacers.

Just installed these. No lift and no rubbing. Supposedly the trd pro's are an inch higher but i dont see it. Almost rubs in the front. Should be fine under flex but will test it this weekend after an alignment.

Fully stuffed tires. I even took my front swaybar off and stuff with tires at an angle. My new sig pic is with the coopers and the sway bar delete. No rubbing at all.

Here is a before/after tire install + sway bar delete. A lot more flex and taller tires with no rubbing.

Do you have to have lifts on a stock 2015 4-runner to put an all terrain tire on that will not rub. I am not sure what came stock on the truck but I need to get a new set that will handle some off road (not alot) and snow, ice going up the hwy to go skiing. We live in Colorado.

I put a pair of tires on my last Tacoma and I was told they would fit fine by Big O tires and they rubbed a bit but not much. I guess you have to stick with the specs on the car you have from Toyota. Does Toyota recommend any all-terrain tires for a 4-runner.

I've had these tires for over 15k miles now. Put them on my 2014 Trail w KDSS in stock form. Speedo was close to on. During a trip from Az to Colorado I set my trip to 0 on a nice straight in NM.

Over 100 miles it was off bye 3.8%.

ZERO ZILCH NADA rubbing with how mine was aligned. I now have a 2in front lift. Still no rub even fully stuffed. Im not saying they will not rub on any 4runner just saying mine did not. They are a small 255/80 so that helps.

The do ride harder than P rated stockers but its to be expected its a 10 ply tire!

I have aired down to 12 psi and these things rock:guitar2:!

Never been stuck, never had a flat, and no issues with balance. knock on wood...

You guys are killing me. I was all set on a sensible set of 255/75s, then I see the 255/80s are weigh only a few pounds more even though they are E-rated.

Can anyone confirm how tall these things actually are? I've seen everything from 32" to over 33"... I'd like my speedo to still be somewhat accurate with the tires and not zap too much of the power away.
