Cornfed Suspension

Hey guys this is the first time I am posting, I just got a 04 sr5 and i am thinking about the cornfed lift, how much do you think it would cost for installation somewhere... I am in tampa bay, not very near virginia or else i would go to cornfed and let them do it.
thanks
Ben

Thanks, i can aford that, now anyone in the tampa bay area recommend anywhere to have it done? preferably in st. pete?

I am getting ready to buy a cornfed lift for my 06' SE 4X4. Does anyone live near Virginia, West Va, or Southern Ohio that could help me with the install? I am 3 hours from Virginia, 5 minutes from West Va.(Huntington), and live in Southern Ohio. I would really appreciate anyones help and would be willing to pay for help. I have the XREAS and just want to make sure I do it right. Thanks for any help possible.

have cornfed do the install. i think they charge about $350 for lift and install. since they make the product thats probably your best bet if your in the west virginia area.

Ben,

have you thought about donig it your self. It took me about 8 hours, and cost close to nothing; you can rent the tools from Advance Auto.

Besides, self install is about half fun.

Awesome! I did not realize that Cornfed was based in West Virginia until I visited their website. They also have a location in Virginia. Are you sure they can do installations at both locations?
Thanks

well i figured i couldnt cause i dont have the tools, but i guess if i could rent them. Ive never done anything like that before tho, i work with electronics more than mechanical stuff. only problem still is i dont have a garage or anything i would have to do it out in the college parking lot.
i prolly wont end up doing it for about a year tho, gotta save up some money and its not a top priority right now.

2003+ 4Runner Lift-Kit

Just sharing some info and concern. I have a Nitrous Enterprise lift on my 03 Sport Edition. (which come with XREAS suspension). I have had no worries/problems with the lift, 4" in front, 3" in rear, with Shock-Relocators which are needed for the XREAS system. I'm bummed on news I'm hearing about Nitrous Enterprises and their quality (both in 4Runner and Nissan Tital threads.) So it's got me thinking of changing to a product designed by a company with more history. I can say i've put my Runner through the paces with the kit, and no problems what-so-ever, but I would definitely recommend a product from a more established company if available. My biggest note, DO NOT REMOVE/DISCONNECT XREAS SYSTEM. From what i've heard, if you do disconnect for the install, you're gonna have mad problems. You have to use an old school, coil-spring compressor and keep the suspension system in tact. Insure your installers know this.

Re: 2003+ 4Runner Lift-Kit

I would say that NE is not recommended especially their rear shock relocator kit. If you have XREAS and have no plans on removing it, I'd recommend Cornfed as the number 1 spacer solution followed by a close Revtek and Daystar. All 3 are great spacer products and you can't go wrong.

If you want to remove xreas or have no plans on keeping it, go with OME. If you want more bling, look into coilovers such as Downey, Sway A Way and Donahoe Racing.

XREAS can be removed an reinstalled as I have seen one 4runner go thru this process. Reinstallation is a piece of cake so long as you remove the system as described in the FSM (field service manual).

Suspension installation is relatively easy so if any of you are thinking about lifting, consider attempting to do it yourself as it'll be much more gratifying than forking out the $$ and looking away.

Good luck!

Any idea as to whether or not the rear shock relocator is really needed on the XREAS equipt Runners when lifting the rear 3" with coil spring spacers? (as is the set up with my Nitrous Enter. lift). If i were to buy a new lift from Cornfed, OUCH!, are there any necessary modifications/relocations for the rear shocks? I didn't intend to do any other suspension modifications once i installed this lift, i was just looking for the ground clearance, but that does lead me to another question...
Does anyone know if i can get a little more articulation while keeping the XREAS system, (maybe with disconnects) or does XREAS hinder any mod's beyond coil spacers? Any thoughts would be MUCH appreciated.

a question for those of you who have installed the cornfed lift. i've read that the daystar and revtek spacer lifts settle bit after some use. something like the daystar lift having settled from 2.5" gain to 1.5". have your cornfed lifts settled? if i get the cornfed lift, i'd like to know that my 3"/2" lift is not actually a 2"/1". i hope my explanation sounds clear. anyways... how's your corned lifts holding up?

Haven't heard about that. Could it be that the spacers are right, but after time (and abuse) the suspension, shocks/coils etc., get a little saggy and need to be replaced. I know once I got my lift, I was headed for dirty-rocky-muddy trails whenever I got a chance.
On a side note, how is Pismo. I'm thinking of doing a weekend trip up there to camp, surf, and of course check out the OHV area. Is it pretty much just dunes? do they have any water crossings, anything technical, or is it all endless sand?

As for Cerritos, I know what you mean. I bought my Runner there and can't stand the place. Toyota of Whittier is a little better, but i totally recommend Quality Automotive off Lambert Rd. just east of Washington. (if you live close) Two brothers own the place, one of them owns an 04/05 Limited 4x4 and they do it up right. better prices on parts and labor, and no b.s., just good people. Super nice and their always ready to swap stories. (seems like their in some dirt every weekend)

On the Cornfed kit, no worries. At one time I sold both, and only choose to sell the Cornfed.

I know the Daystar's settle (the polyurathane starts compressing)

The only thing I've seen in some cases is people measuring the amount of lift gain immeadiately after coming down off the jack.

When it first comes off the jack it will sit higher than once it's driven of course.

Is it possible to acquire a kit that will give 2" front and back?
