Cost of air filter?

What is a reasonable price to pay for an air filter for my "06" V6 4runner. The auto parts store wants aprox $ 18 to $ 20 bucks for a Fram or P-later. And I don't know how much my stealership wants for an OEM.

By the way who makes the OEM air filters for the 4runner??

Just about all after market suppliers make air filter for the runner. I use AC Delco filters for $ 15.

The OEM engine air filter is made by Denso, and I believe list price is about $21 for the V6 or $26 for the V8. You can get it a few bucks cheaper on the Internet, but then you have to pay shipping charges.

OE and Purolator is good. Run from Fram.

It basically does not matter which brand of filter you use, but it is more important to change it on some regular basis. 20,000 to 30,000 miles seems be the norm. I just replace mine each year on its anniversary. I am averaging 18,000 mile a year but it is easy for me to remember, so I do it well before it is necessary.

I find that the HVAC filter gets really dirty fast; to my surprise.
