Hi everyone, new member from Costa Rica.

I found this forum by mistake but this is great! I have a '98 2WD 4Runner. After a day or 2 here I have found many interesting ideas and great cars. Will be posting pics soon...

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here from modding to general upkeep. Is it difficult to find things for your T4R in CR? I'm heading down there in June, should I expect to see a lot of Hilux T4Rs?

Thank you GR! This forum is perfect! To answer your question, yes, 4Rs are very common here. Parts are not that hard to find actually, most of them can be found on garages or going directly to Toyota.

The not-so-cool part is buying things online. I still haven't ordered parts for my car but have tried Amazon and a couple other sites with random stuff. If not shipped directly must have it shipped to an address in FL, then have it shipped to CR (big fee to a 3rd party company), pay customs, cross your fingers in doesn't get lost, stolen or broken on the way. Shipments can be very expensive and it takes forever. Specially big or heavy things. Cars are very expensive too. I see you guys have found cars for $2,3,4k... You won't find a 4R for less than $10k here.

Besides that everything else is great. Can't wait to upload some pics to share with you guys and continue learning.

Hope you have a great time here in CR!

Yeah, we have it better here with costs. I know some of the folks from Canada on this site pay mucho dinero for shipping costs so can only imagine how bad people outside the U.S. get hit with high shipping costs! Depending on the location in the U.S., used 4Runners can be pricey also but I'll have to say that FL is usually fairly priced.

The T4R nerd in me is looking forward to seeing the vehicles in CR!
