It's been a while, but I finally added some things and did some maintenance on the Runner. I changed the spark plugs and oil at 127,500 miles.
I got a blue sea fuse block to tidy up my engine bay wiring. I made a bracket out of some scrap aluminum to mount everything on. It definitely cleaned things up. Now I went have to run everything straight to the battery!

Well, I got a Rola rack Tuesday and finally made some mounts to mount it lower than the cross bars. It sits 3/4" above the center of the roof line. We had some channel iron, so I welded up some L brackets, then welded the channel iron to it, so the rack sits inside the channel iron and U bolts keep it in place, I eventually want to weld the rack to the mounts, but I may do some adjusting to the height.
I just ordered a 40" spot only light bar for it. I'll have to take it down in weld some tabs on it for that, so I'll go ahead and weld other tabs for miscellaneous lighting around the rack. I'll probably weld the whole rack together also...I'm not a huge fan of the way they're supposed to be held together by screws.

Looks Great :thumb: Trucks coming along nicely. It's amazing how little things can change up the look of the truck so much like racks,wheels,tires,grills etc.. Love seeing them grow though!

Here's a pic...
We used a torch to cut it, so it isn't very pretty! I think I'm going to make another set that has that channel iron running the whole length of the rack instead of about 2ft like it is now. I'm calling this mount my prototype!

No pics, but I replaced the passenger side CV axle with a new one from O'reillys with a lifetime warranty. I was kind of leery of it, but I needed it then because I went on a wheeling trip this past weekend and my OEM one was shot! The inner boot had pretty much disappeared. I kept my OEM one and I'm going to reboot it and keep it for a spare. I'm actually surprised at the O'reillys one. I didn't give my truck any mercy and it held up very well during the trip, and it completely got rid of my vibration at 48-55mph!
On a side note...My next purchases will be a winch and a snorkel! I shamefully had to get pulled up a hill that I couldn't make all the way up by my brother, in his Grand Wagoneer, that did make it all the way up! I'll spend the money before I let that happen again! I didn't feel too bad about it though...The FJ that was with us had to winch himself up the same hill.

What did you mean by the 12" sub was too much for 4Runner?

The box was a little too big to put anything else back there with it, plus, it over powered the rest of my speakers. The 8" L7 I have in the now is a perfect match for the speakers I have

I had some spare time today finally, so I installed my snorkel. I've had it for about a week now. The last time I went wheeling, we hit some water crossings that were deep enough to scare me, so I ordered one as soon as I got back home. It's made for an 80 series Land Cruiser. I've seen some people mount it on a 4runner, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

It actually fits quite nice! I did have to trim a little of my cladding...maybe 1/4" or so. Other than that, and drilling into my fenders, it was easy!
