Crack in T-case drain hole, leaking, help!

I thought I had a bad seal causing a leak at my t-case drain hole but turns out there's a crack in the hole housing. See attached pic. How do you think I should fix this? Would black RTV silicone smeared over the crack work do you think? Guess I could give it a shot.

Not sure about rtv but I might be tempted to use some Jb weld very carefully pushing it into the threads/crack then grease/wax the drain plug (release agent)and run it through but don't leave it in. Finally after cured run a tap through it.

I would be worried about the crack propagating so I would think about welding around the outside of the "bung" for good measure.

How far up into the threads does the crack travel? Probably most of the way for it to leak.

I think the op was looking for an affordable time buyer, not the correct way but it works to seal it. I assumed if op had access to a welder he probably wouldn't have posted here. And I didn't say anything about praying but it might help ��

I just applied a liberal amount of RTV and put the plug back in. Will let it dry overnight then fill and see what happens.

Sorry you already applied RTV but it might work. I had a hole in my t-case where a chunk was broken off-roading leaving a hole that was about 3/4" - 1". I cut a piece of aluminum to cover the hole and put 3 coats of JB Weld over it and the surrounding area. That was years ago and it's still holding just fine.
