Cracked dash on 06-09?

I have a 2008 SR5 and my dash is starting to crack. Anyone else seeing this on their later model 4th Gens? We weren't covered on the dash recall. I wonder if they will extend it to the new trucks.

It is starting to crack above the glove box where the pass airbag is. Did they change the dash design after 05?

never heard of it on our 06-09's. Mine's good, I know that. Sorry to hear you're having that issue

I could be wrong but there was few bad batches of dashs that were rolled out for certain toyota and lexus vehicles including early 4th gen 4R. when they found out the culprit for cracking, they updated specs to ensure it would never happen. it took them a few years for a bunch of people to make some noise because earlier on people had to pay out of their own pockets until the company gave in and initiated a limited-time warranty program where they replaced dashs free of charge.

that being said, i am pretty sure you are not affected as yours is an '08. If any the cutoff year would be 2005-2006 but I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar it was '05.


where do you live? it is possible for dashboards to crack under constant exposure to high temps (sun) if you don't take the time to try park in an area with shade during the day

I have a 2004 that had a cracked dash... It wasn't even that bad, but I asked Toyota about it and they said it was eligible for replacement so I did it.

The Enhancement Warranty for the cracked dashes was only for the 2003, 2004 and 2005 year models.
