Hey y'all, I very briefly scanned this thread, so please excuse my question that I'm sure is all over this thread. I have an 03, with a totally cracked dash. Do you feel I should bring it in the dealer and see what can be done? I will look thoroughly through the thread later this afternoon sorry again

Yes, you should - my is an 03. They will inspect and run the vin#.

My dash order was placed last week of July 2015 and I just got mine replaced yesterday. It's worth the wait and looks great. I'll post pictures sometime when I'm not on mobile.

I had the initial appointment Nov 11, 2015. So I waited about four months. I also called them every few weeks to check.

New dash installed. Two month order to install time.
Didn't quite put everything back the way they got it, but that's typical of my dealer. Windshield was so greasy on the inside it wasn't safe to drive, door under the HVAC had a broken tab. Talking to the dealer tomorrow about getting a new door

Has anyone had their dash replaced in the northern VA area? Any dealership recommendations? I've always done my own repairs and maintenance so I'm a little hesitant to let someone else work on my 4Runner.
Koons Toyota (Tysons Corner) and Priority Toyota (Springfield) are the closest to me but they have mixed reviews on the web. Thanks!

Dropped by Expressway Toyota In Dorchester MA. they took photos and are sending to Toyota for approval. my crack is in one long line right above the instrument cluster looked awful for years, hopefully Toyota approves it! The dealership did say that there was going to be a pretty long wait since the item is back ordered, I dont mind though as long as its fixed some time in the next few months.

Well found out when they did my dashboard replacement they either forgot to reconnect the daylight sensor or they broke it, my auto headlights no longer work. Flipped the switch all the way to auto for the first time since getting the dash done and all the lights went out, this was at about 11pm so no chance of picking up light from somewhere.

My new to me 2004 has what appear to be repaired cracks in same shape and location as in the quoted post. They have been filled at some point and the repair is actually pretty good, but if I can get a new dash I feel like I should do it.
Since there has been a previous repair, do you think Toyota would replace this one? You can see in the posted pic what I'm talking about.

I'd say it's worth a shot. If you feel like your dealer won't replace due to the repairs you could wait until a new crack forms, but that may be a while. This campaign runs until May 2017 I believe.

I went in for the initial inspection about 3 weeks ago, they ordered the part, then called me about a week ago to schedule an appointment to have the work done.
I dropped my 4runner off friday evening around 5pm, they gave me a loaner (rav4), and had my 4runner done the next day around 330pm. Not bad.
Of course now the glove box won't open, and they broke that little compartment door below the radio, but they said they'll take care of that, just gotta take it back in today after work. Other than that, the new dash looks great!

Worth a shot. Don't mention the repair work unless they mention it first =)
haha, they broke my compartment below the radio as well. Replaced it for free thankfully. Now that they gave me a new one, I need to re-drill my hole in it and mount my subwoofer control pod again.
Nice turn around time, mine was ~3 months.

Dash Repair
I just bought a 2003 4Runner and brought it into the Toyota dealership for a pre-purchase inspection. Without even knowing anything about the extended customer warranty on the dash the service guy checking me in looked at it and told me they would replace it at no cost. He called me a month later and everything was taken care of that day.
Very happy with that dealer!

I have been waiting since last May! I called a new larger Toyota Dealer in a bigger city and they said it would put back on day #1 and it could take another year and a half! I honestly think Toyota is hoping our trucks die before they need the new dashes and they are going to drag it ou as long as they can to maximize the attrition of older 4Runners like mine to natural causes. At this point I will have my truck towed in for the new dash if is no longer running and send it to the salvage yard with the new dash if it comes to that. Fortunately it is running great right now and I hope to get several more years out of it. Maybe Toyota will make good on their promise within the next few years
gotcha, when the guy said 2-3 months to me, I told him I hope I still own the car, its 10 years old it's getting close to time to upgrade
