The poly bushing will deflect way easier than a steel bracket or link. The heim is a solid mount and there is no deflection. The shock load is what wallows out the holes not really the articulation. You have to remember the factory links have rubber on both ends and the mounts are perfectly fine. The heim on one end will more than make up for the articulation needed for a link.

Ok that makes a lot more sense to me now that it is explained that way. Thank you for correcting me on that and I forgot about the rotation of the hiem as well. I will probably follow that and skip the weld washers frame side.

Couldn't hurt if you do but I don't think you will have problems as Brian2sun and J-Money$$ have been ok with their setups so far once they swapped one side to poly.

Finally got the suspension dialed in and got to test it out. Nothing really on the trail but at least i got to flex it out.

And a shot from the top of the trail this weekend out by Sonora with Matt's runner.

Looking good bud so how much overall would you say that you have gained out of doing the LCAs?

Not sure if it is really more as it is smoother.

The shocks are going to limit it not the links.

This whole setup: coilovers, springs, shocks, bumpstops, links, everything has never been out prior to this weekend.

I know the setup feels super smooth and the rear shocks are about 1.5" longer than what was in there before. With that said, I would say im gaining the 1.5" more droop with the setup but limiting my compressed due to the shock length and the extended bump stops.

I know the factory links have limiters on the top of the frame side bushing that was swinging completely past the mount with the new setup. It would catch as it pulled past and went back in. That alone was causing the articulation to get choppy as it would drop then catch and drop then catch. The new setup is smooth all the way through.

Oh yeah that was smooth :face palm: at least you got what I was trying to say lol me and my buddy where wondering about those when we dropped the suspension to put the coils in.

I have been wondering about outboarding shocks or even triangulating them so get more flex. (It will probably just stay like this till I SAS.) but I am definitely looking at the links for sure.

I guess the only real way to get more droop would be to run a longer shock but keep the same center point that the shocks currently have (where shaft enters body). The ride height should be the same as that is determined by the coils but you should be able to achieve more droop but as well you would have to fab up some bucket sides to keep the spring on the mount. Unless you got a coil that attaches to the top and bottom. I guess this is why people run coilovers in the rear lol

That would be a first on here but I wouldn't wanna spent the money on a coilover setup of these rigs unless they are sas'd. And longer links.

Most of the trail had dried up for the most part. I did just get a few more pictures that Matt was able to get though. It was a fun short trail but definitely be better in the summer when the other trails open back up. :thumb:

Went out to Hollister with Drew and Robert on Saturday. Gorgeous day and was finally able to test out all the new goodies.

I'm definitely needing to get the skids finished up. Along with these areas, my driveshaft is still hitting the gas tank skid in 3 places. I need to get it pulled and get the grinder out to make some more clearance. :jester:













There is more scrapes on the other side, I just didnt get pictures.

The rear tire is actually making contact with the bumper on the passenger side still along with the rear corners of the wheel wells.

The front is nice and tubbed now so no more rubbing at full lock and stuff. Was definitely nice to have full steering when completely stuffed. :yo:
