Little back story on the T4R. I bought it from a local auction with the intent to take the elocker rear and interior for my 1998. Well long story short, I got it home and swapped the rearend but now decided to build it. Not sure if it's going to be the daily or a scrambler.

Here she is.




Cleaned the interior.

Pulled out the radiator support a bit...




Being a tad OCD things still didn't fit how I wanted them.
After a little brain storming I came home with these. Just waiting on the radiator support.

Started disassembly of the front end.
I couldn't help myself, I had to see what it is going to look like.

I knew those looked like Taco fenders.

Decided to use the engine from the T4R I bought for parts. It had lower miles and looks like it has been properly cared for. I’m going to go through it before I drop it in.

Moved the cars around and started to work on the front end.

Mocked up most of the front end. I guess I’ll paint the radiator support before I tack it on.

^Is that radiator support piece just bolted on or are there any spot welds holding it on?

I love the Taco front end swap, it looks so good!

It’s held on with about 8 spot welds per side and 2 body mount bolts.

Got some painting done. Not bad for my first time with a spray gun if I do say so myself. LoL.

Paint is done for now. Time to start making a bumper.

Need some input... to flare or not to flare?

I’m thinking flare cause the stock 265s stick out farther than the fenders. Plus it adds to the double take with the Tacoma front.

I vote no flare. To me that makes your fender stand out even more.

I say flare for sure, looks badass with the new front end!

Both outer boots were seeping grease so a re-boot was in order.
