Creaking Noise Right Rear?

Hi Men,
I have a 2008 SR5. I have a creaking noise that has developed in the passenger side rear area. I can induce this pretty consistently by applying breaks at slow speeds and it also happens at 1st acceleration and when turning into my drive way and going over the curb. It seems like it is associated with body roll or forward and backwards body movement. I installed Bilsteins in the rear back in January. The noise seemed to start about a month ago. It's almost like opening an old door. I checked that the coils springs were put back correctly and tried silicone spray lubricant on most of the bushings I could locate. No change. I thought maybe I either had the top bushings in the shocks too tight or too loose, but nothing seemed to change adjusting either way. It sounds like a sqeaky spring, not a grinding or squealing noise. If I jump up and down on the vehicle in the garage, I don't hear the noise. Any ideas would be appreciated. My search on this subject didn't really turn up anything really similar. My next step is to pull the wheel off and see if I can induce the noise or see anything else. Best regards, Doug

This may seem so simple that it's stupid, but is there anything in your storage bin above the wheel well that could be making the noise? Check the jack side as well.

I know my buddy was hearing this "thud" coming from his cargo area when he came to abrupt stops that was driving him nuts. He finally figured out that it was his strap (the one used to pull the lift gate down) slapping the gate when he braked hard.

Sometimes it's the little things that stump us. But based on your described symptoms, that's all I got. Hope you get it sorted out man. Good luck!

Yes Superman,
I did found a few things like that in my search, but nothing in the compartments or the doors themselves making any noise. Thanks for the input, it is often something simple like that. Unfortunately I haven't found it yet. Best regards, Doug

Found Noise, Mount plate for Side Step Tube

Well, I found the origin of the noise. It was the mount bracket for the side step tube. I had checked that it was tight, but with further inspection the mount was in contact with the frame. The mount bracket attaches to a frame mount bushing. So, when the frame would move, the bracket was making a noise against the frame. I'll have to put a fender washer in I guess to make a little space. Glad I figured it out, was irritating me .

Glad you nailed it and that is wasn't anything serious.
