"...the Crew Max, aimed squarely at pickup truck buyers who need to haul equipment and want four full doors, not just the modest escape doors found on extended cab trucks, and essentially do business from their trucks.

Beyond that, Crew Max has 44.5 inches of rear leg room

2007 Tundra

That's the Crewmax version of the new 2007 Tundra, now up on the Toyota website.

This truck is being manufactured in Toyota's new plant in San Antonio. Lots of versions and options, including a 10,600 lb towing capacity.

It will be interesting to see how well the new full-size Tundra penetrates the full-size truck market.

Here's Motor Trend's "First Drive" of the new Tundra. Of course, in Motor Trend like fashion, they throw it under the bus. I guess that's a good thing considering they did the same thing with the current gen 4Runner...

Its pretty good on paper, the facts and figures and stuff is all well and good. But dont get me wrong here, it really is probably the most boring, plain and soft looking truck on the market. The Ram, F-series and especially the Titan are reasonably aggressive in appearance, but the sadly for me the Tundra comes last in looks, even behind the Silverado.
Im sure they would sell a bit better with a tougher look. Nobody ever buys a vehicle that they dont like the look of no matter how good the stats are. (and please, nobody mention the Aztec here!)

I don't know I'm a big toyota and nissan fanatic and I think the new Tundra is aesthetically more pleasing than the Titan I like the Titan as well but I would prefer the new Tundra over the Titan. and the stats just boost the want even more because of the fact you can basically buy anything and not have to wait for delivery...... ever.

Plus the options to choose from just make this to me an all around awesome truck. My only thing is if Toyota can make a gasoline truck with a 10,800lb towing capacity why can't they give we american's a diesel with a ton more towing capacity??? I'm sure it all comes down to the fact that Toyota views the diesel market as such a small market comparably to the regular gasoline they see no profit in it for them.... Oh well we can keep dreaming of a diesel 4Runner and Tundra..........

Last time I checked wasn't the Titan rated least reliable in 2005 aside Ford trucks??

I am not impressed with the exterior either, but the interior is very nice. I think the most aggressive looking trucks are the F-350 and Dodge Ram. The new Tundra should give the 3 American trucks good competition. I honestly don't think the Titan coms close to the Tundra. There are many cab sizes, engines, and trims to choose from. I actually wouldn't mind seeing a few of the features from the Tundra in a future 4Runner!

I read an article today that said the CrewMax version would be built in Princeton, Indiana where the current Tundra model has been built, and the other cab configurations would be built in Texas.

I really don't care for the looks of the regular cab version, but I like the CrewMax version alot. Thankfully the regular cab will probably have the lowest sales volume of the model.

The 4runner is fast already! Just wait, in 2009 when the new one comes out and maybe Toyota will be nice and give an option for that 5.7L, 381 horsepower sounds really nice to me.

You know what's funny about that new Tundra? My brother is in upper management here at Toyota and he showed me a video of the new Tundra 5.7L being tested. They were comparing it to the Ford Dbl Cab FX4 V8, Dodge Dbl Cab w/ Hemi, Chevrolet Dbl Cab 6.0L V8, and Nissan Titan V8. All were 4x4 vehicles.

Anyway, they took a chain and hooked it to the back of the Tundra and then took turns hooking it to the back of the other trucks. The drivers of both vehicles slammed on the acclerator and the results were video taped. The new Tundra pulled each of the other vehicles around the course while their respective wheels were burrning rubber and chirpping like crazy! Talk about an awesome video!

The truck who gave the Tundra the most trouble was the Chevrolet because of it's 6.0L V8 which is cranking out 367 hp and like 38? fpt. Can't remember exactly but it's high. Not quite as high as the Tundra. Add the extra power of the Tundra with it's new 6-speed automatic transmission and you get WAY more usable power and better fuel economy.

I beg to differ. I like the look of the Tundra a lot, except the tow mirrors could've been done better and the side profile of the rear lights. Too bad the CrewMax only comes with the 5.5' bed. They should offer something like the executive seating package (recliner) like the LS460 L.

The only other truck that possibly looks better than the Tundra is the F-series. Well, the Big Threes offerings doesn't look bad, they all look decent to say the lease, but IMO the Titan looks like crap. The chrome slab on the front bumper looks like a bib connected from the grille.

Also, read that San Antonio is the supporting plant. For now, Indiana is suppose to be the primary production plant. It'll probably change down the line when San Antonio is fully online and Tundra sales take off.

Anyways, The pulling comparison is kind of a sketchy test because they could have weight hidden out of view in the bed of the Tundra. When it comes to those types of competitions it all comes down to traction, read: tires and weight. A chevy blazer could pull around a Tundra if it had enough weight to keep the tires from spinning. I'd love to see the video.

As far as putting the 5.7 in the 4Runner, keep dreaming. The 4.7 barely fits between the wheel wells as it is. You're going to need an extra 4-6 inches in width before we see something like that. Besides, initial reports are saying that the 5.7 is a heavy engine.
