I am selling my 4runner to my father and just purchased a new 06 330i. I built a custom ported subwoofer box for the top of my double decker system. Its made of mdf, fiberglass and alot of damn time. It was built specifically for a Brahma 10" woofer but im sure any subwoofer could be substituted in its place. I am looking to sell this box and find it a new home. I put close to 15 hours or more into this box (was my first fiberglass box).
Description of the box details;
The front, back and sides are made of mdf. the top and bottom are fiberglass. I did this to reduce the height of the box. The height in the back of the box is also less then that in front. I used a 1 inch strip in the front on the top and the bottom to mount the subwoofer. This sub just fits in the box, i cant say how close I built this box to the diemensions of this sub. It bolts to the top deck using 2 bolts with washers. You can see it in the pictures below! Someone will ask why bother. Simply 60% of the box fits under the cargo cover and the part that does go above is a smooth curve. I didnt not want to ruin the cover. I had a standard mdf square box before this and it barely fit. I knew if i didnt change it the edges where going to ruin the cargo cover. I live in Brooklyn, NY and you dont leave you aftermarket stereo equipment in the open unless you dont want it anymore.

2. The box and the subwoofer. A brand new sub retails for 389.99 (newer version of course).
Im taking offers for either setup. I figured I would give you guys first shot at it. If not it will make its way onto ebay. Shipping is gonna be alot for this box so i will welcome local pickups. Will be willing to meet half way if the price is right. Im gonna do some digging and find all the info on my sub I cant remember the impedance off hand but I have a feeling its a 4ohm. 600 watts rms on the power rating for the subwoofer.
As you can see in the picture the port needs alittle touch up paint. No big deal to fix, I never got around to finishing it. Also when it is received and you are installing the sub, the inner ring lip needs some paint. I made the depth of the ring about 1/8 to deep and you can see in some areas some bare mdf. Another easy fix. Just tape off the outside and hit the port and ring with some dupi-color glossy black. I got it at autozone and I think strauss sells it too. I also put a clearcoat on the outside of the box for added protection. There are no major scratches on the ourside of this box, if you see something in the pictures its glare!!! One minor scratch that can only be seen up close around the ring of the subwoofer near the top. No other scratches!
