custom mounting brackets...where to have them made?

Where would one go to have some custom fabbing done for mounting brackets and maybe some altercations to a brush guard?

Long story short, got screwed on craigslist with a brush guard that doesn't actually fit. Thought getting some brackets to mount it would be easy...and it isn't. So for a Christmas gift to myself, I'd like to have it put on my car. Welded, custom fabbed, whatever it takes.

I just don't know where to go for that kind of work really. I live in a kinda small town, Austin and Waco aren't too far, but I don't really want to drive all the way out there. What kind of shops would do stuff like that?

Custom fab shops i.e. hot rod shops, i know there is some place between Austin and Waco called "Get it up" Off Road shop (yes i know). I think it's in Belton. But honestly, you might be better off putting yours back up on CL and looking for another one that fits if you're that set on a brush guard. A lot of folks on here will tell you they are a waste and do more damage in collisions.

haha, you guessed where I live just right, good ole' 254!

I would love to sell it and at least try to break even, but I have no idea how to advertise it. I have no clue what truck it would fit and no one will bite on the ad unless they know what it fits, at least I imagine. Seems like using it might be the only option.

Yeah i understand that. Maybe post a pic of it up here. Some of these guys might have a pretty good idea and we can narrow it down.

agreed, post a pic up, we have a lot of pretty car savvy people on here, I bet we can figure out what it might fit.

Thats really your best choice, to sell it and get the right thing. I dont know what you paid for the brush guard, doesnt really matter either, its probably not worth trying to make it fit. Dont get me wrong, a good machine shop or welding shop can make ANYTHING fit, its just probably not worth your time or money to do so.
