Custom Trail Emblem Made

Is that the "Black Strong and Flexible" Finish with the description "Black nylon plastic with a matte finish and slight grainy feel." If so, I wonder how the other colored finishes look, since they claim to have a polished smooth finish in the description. Same price as the black as well.

I ordered the "strong and flexible polished". It at least sounded like it would match better. I'm going to dip them like it did my others so the color didnt matter.

Just got the email mine are shipped from shapeways.. I'm on long island and they are coming from long island city.. if i knew that i would have driven there to pick them up.. haha should get them by monday at the latest.. I'll post pics as soon as i can. Thanks for the hard work guys!!

Got them in the mail today.. here are some pictures before plasti dipped and after. The second picture the top emblem is dipped. I didn't sand then before, you can still see some printing lines. Not sure if sanding it would screw them up or not.

I like it and it makes me that much more excited for mine to show up. I got the "polished smooth" finish so maybe that will help with the lines? IDK. I figured I would run over them with a fine grit sandpaper if they needed some more smoothing. Either way, enough coats of plastidip and it will eventually hide it enough to the common person.

Was able to put them on today. I'm still not sure about the back tail gate, I may take that one off. I had the spacing a little off at first. Had the emblem too high. Think it looks good, thanks again for the work in these!

patch thanks for posting pics! Looks good on silver :)

My rev02's are finished and in the mail.

Thanks for this, I always wondered why the Trail was the only one without a badge ha.... now we have one! Just ordered 2!

Jones'd on it a bit, so I stuck it on to test it out. I still have another coat of dip to do...then spend another month on placement :biggrin1:

I have two on the way ... Thank You for this and all the work ! Very cool !

I have maybe a dumb question ,, Is there a way to "chrome " it so it matches the stock badging ?

No problem :)

I was thinking about this too. It may be possible to wrap it with some 3m 1080 metallic vinyl. You would obvisuouly have to be creative in the narrow gaps. Other than that I have no idea how one would do that "plasti-chrome" type stuff.

Added emblem to rear of truck. Originally bought two, but screwed one up trying to "smooth out" the 3D printing lines with Dremel attachment. That didn't go so well. :redbrick:

I will be ordering two more for the sides.

I know there is chrome or silver spray paint, but it might end up with a bit of a rough finish. You would have to sand the emblem as smooth as you could and maybe spray some sort of undercoat on it to make sure the chrome paint was smooth.
