CV axle greese spewage

Each boot needs one big clamp and one little clamp.
Big clamp pack comes with 5. Small clamp pack comes with 10.
I was able to use the clamps supplied with the oem boot kit but I do own one of them weird cv clamp wind-up tool deal for one of the clamps. The other ones were done with a simple plier. They do the job well I thought.

Does anyone know if you can buy standard CV grease and supplement the toyota OEM grease? I called the dealer and they said they don't sell the grease on it's own. I dont want to buy a whole boot kit just for the grease. i just want to add some bc some spewed/sprayed out of the outer cv.

I bought a pack of CV grease from Autozone. I'm sure other auto parts stores sell it too. You're gonna need to pack it into a grease gun with a needle attachment to slip it under the boot sleeve. Read somewhere that someone had luck with medical syringes and plastic needles.
Mine ended up being torn and not due to the clamp, so I just got a new CV axle. Now I have an OEM axle waiting to get rebooted when I'm bored. So happy T4R uses the same axle for both sides.
yes, it's ok to mix the grease there. I had the leak from the clamp area and lucky enough the boot is not torn. I added a fully synthetic grease there and now no more leak.
