CV Axle Play

Im getting a whine noise and a replacement CV (came with the used 4runner I bought) leaks a little grease on the inside boot small end.

I noticed this one has a little play/noise when moving the wheel vs factory Toyota which has no play.

Wondering if re-pack with grease help or just replace it. Is there a decent quality after market? Cardone?

note that I had replaced LCA and had this all loose and let it hang down, it came out a bit. maybe I didn't get it reseated enough?
