So I have replaced both front cv axles with remaned autozone specials. I replaced the deals at the diff at the same time as a preventative measure they were not leaking originally. This was done a while back now. Shortly after, I noticed the passenger side seal leaking so I removed the axle and replaced the seal again. I kept a watchful eye on it and it remained dry. Fast forward about a year and I noticed this week that the same seal is leaking again. I'm sure that the axle is shot now as there is a whole lot of slop on the same side going in and out. The movement seems to be within the axle itself meaning the two ends and the diff and the knuckle don't move. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or knowledge as to why I would be going through seals like this. Thanks in advance.

Improper placement? I know a lot of people have issues placing them either too deep or not deep enough. I just swapped both my axles at 110k and the seals looked great so I didn't bother opening that can of worms.

That's basically what I did. No leaks... that was a few months and good number of miles ago. Like you, I thought good preventative maintenance. Not sure why you think your axle is shot. It will naturally by design have play to move in and out of at the joint inside the inner boot. This is what allows the axle to lengthen and shorten with the suspension movement.

This is why I replaced the axle. I did it yesterday. So far so good. I was also getting a vibration intermittently on the same side at certain speeds. And a clunk like in the video pulling in and out of driveways that had dips or inclines on them. There is some movement on the other side too. But not nearly as much and no clunking noise. Hard to tell in the video, but there was not much effort at all needed to slide it in and out like that.
