cv boot quick repair

anyone tried this. Dont have time or place to do correctly till spring. Spring IM gonna refresh entire front suspension so would be a good time to rebuild the cvs. Just need to get through winter. On rock auto its listed to fit 2000 4runner. seems like handy for a trail repair too. Of course video shows doing it wiht cv off car, but It is intended to be done on car. Many many years back they made something similar for vw bugs and they worked.

I've never tried one of these but if your rig is stock height, and as a temporary fix I say go for it. I do suspect that this would fail rather quickly if your rig was lifted at all. It might also help it to last longer if you leave the clamp loose on the axle side. Let us know how it worked out next spring if you decide to give it a go.
