CV Leakage after front hub replacement?

So last month I had the front hubs replaced on my 08 UR since the bearings were bad....got an oil change about 3 weeks later and now my tech stated the CV inner boots were leaking, checked them out and milkshake came to mind. Both sides are leaking, I also had them replaced but am trying to get out of having to pay another deductible on my warranty.

Is it possible when my tech put in the hubs he twisted boots somehow and now they are leaking? It just seems like too much of a coincidence....

It's not impossible but it's unlikely. Especially since it's both sides.

I've replaced CV shafts and I've replaced wheel bearings. Since you don't have to pull the shaft out of the differential to replace the bearing hub it's hard to imagine them being damaged during the process.

From someone who just replaced the hub/bearing assemblies this past weekend, I would say its possible, but not probable, that the boots on the cv axles could have been damaged. Once you remove the lower control arm spindle/hub bolts the axle just slides out of the hub and lays quietly on the LCA until your ready to pull the axle back through the hub.

Just the boots. I figured just warranty them out, could have done the easy fix with new grease and hose clamps but no time!

I reckon that's the issue then. Problem with just replacing the boots is that you never know how much dirt/crud got up into what the boot is protecting. I went ahead and replaced both cv-axles - got reman'd ones fro CVJ axle out of CO for around $210 (after sending my originals to them to cover core-fee).
