I have a 1997 Toyota 4 runner, 4cyl, manual transmission with 219k miles. I've been losing a lot of coolant lately, traced to a blown head gasket I discovered. I poured the Blue Devil head gasket repair stuff in as a temporary fix until I can get some time to properly fix it. Its been about two weeks now and although I am retaining the coolant now I'm getting a misfire in my cylinder 1 that previously only occurred when I started the car up cold that is occurring more frequently now. My question is if the misfire is directly related to my blown head gasket?
A little background here... I had a misfire in my cylinder 4 approx. a year and 14k miles ago. I ended up replacing the coil pack to cylinder 4 and 1, put in new wires, new spark plugs, and ultimately new fuel injectors.... the later is what ultimately solved the misfire. So everything here is up to par. Is this thing going to keep misfiring until I suck it up and replace the head gasket? The Blue Devil stuff was money back guaranteed... kinda a disappointment. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
