I live 4 hours from DFW. There are places to wheel and the hardest part is finding a day to get everyone together.

Howdy. There are a couple of off road parks within a relatively short drive from DFW. But there is no public land, so you won't find anything like BLM trails.

We really should do a big get together.
 
Im down for group rides. Sounds like a blast. Anybody comfortable with longer distance group rides like Ouray, CO or something of the like?
 
I'd be down for a meet & greet or short ride. I'd LOVE to roll over to Ouray, but I don't think that's in the cards for me.

my wife and I visited Moab and Ouray last summer and plan to head back again later this year, especially after we get the truck built up (actually very similar to what you have planned in your build thread), but we are not that interested in hard core rock crawling, but rather just getting off the beaten path to simply hike and mtb and camp

Kinda where I'm at. Im not gonna travel 15 hours to do some hard core junk. I just wanna take the family and do some camping/sight seeing/trail riding.
 
Got a house! Ill be moving in mid May. In the Reno/ Azle area. About 45 minutes or so from Fort Worth. Anybody please let me know if y'all wanna do a day trip of group ride. Im down for it. Just give a little advance notice. Also, Im gonna need to find somebody near by that has a welder and doesn't mind helping a little with it. I've got a little work to do to my 4Runner to get it back to trail ready. Ill supply the beer and food.
 
I was just at K2 in Mason. Was a blast. I'd like to get to Gilmer at some point. You guys needs to make a road trip and come to Hot Springs and visit Superlift.
 
Depends on what kind of light maintenance you are referring to. I got an email from the Grapevine dealership last week about different specials they were running. I presented the email to the Toyota dealership just up the road and they met their price. $23.95 for a full oil change, chassis lube, and complete vehicle inspection. Normally it runs between $40-$50.

The Midas on Lovers and the Tollway has been great to me and my Sequoia and T4R. Prices are very reasonable, and they are about the most honest mechanics I know. I sent my wife there to get a quote on a timing belt and was expecting to have to go up there and make some heads roll, but when she brought it back it was lower than I expected, and they didn't try to up sell her on a water pump. They said they would check it when they pulled the timing belt, then called and said it was still good and suggested NOT replacing it.

Stand up guys, just ask for Junior.

I'm up for either. Family wheeling and camping close by, or a trip out west to Colorado or Utah. I've got a house in the San Juan Mtns between Silverton and Durango that would be a good base camp. Keep me in the loop, I'll go near or far.
 
I personally think that it is worth it to change the water pump if you're going to be in there anyways doing the timing belt. The maintenance part is almost already paid for. It's just good insurance.

I probably should of added that I went ahead and had it replaced. I was just impressed that the shop didn't try to upsell me on a part that was not needed.
