I don't feel the same way. I feel like it's my warning if I'm entering an area that is too low for my truck. I rather have my antenna hit the signs and ceiling than my truck!

But that's only cuz the antenna doesn't bother me much.

If / when I get a 5th Gen that thing is turning into a stubby the day it gets home. Perhaps folks should start mailing their original antenna to Toyota corporate with suggestions on where they can stick it to see if they get the message.

I agree it's disgusting. I have a Corolla that cost 16,000 and it does not have a mast antenna. It needs to go. But if Toyota stays true to their ways you will see it gone soon. The RAV4 debuted with a mast Antenna and now it's gone. The Sienna also has a mast antenna unless you upgrade to the XLE or Limited and it is replaced by the window antenna. Regardless a mast antenna is a step in the wrong direction. It is something I expect to see on a cheap car.

Just ordered the Craven Speed for my 4Runner that's still in Portland, lol.

If you want to keep the stock antenna handy for remote areas or when you sell your 4R it fits nicely in the storage bin right behind the rear seats.
