Are you still running a single 31m battery for the fridge? Still satisfied with it or wish you went with a dual setup?
As for you wanting a bigger vehicle/200 series you think you will not have to use the trailer then? I am in a 05 v6 4th gen now and have been collecting expo gear that can be transfered from one vehicle to the next and doing things to the runner as needed for trips but now have 2 little ones under 3 yrs old and a dog.no more kids will be coming but i keep debating dumping money into 4runner specific stiff if it will never be big enough. I have debated on doing the small trailer like you have.
From your adventures from short to long trips with young kids im curious what you think.

Oh man, I'm horrible with keeping this build thread up to date! Sorry for the late reply...
Yes, still running a single group 31 battery. No issues. I've thought about running a solar setup for times when we're stationary in one spot for more than a few days.
As a 5 person + dog family, any trip that has us on the road for a week +, the trailer is essential.
Can't really answer your question though about dumping money into the 4R. I will say though, it's been an awesome platform for us so far.
If it was just my wife and I, we certainly could get away with just an RTT, but with our family the combination of a super capable/reliable rig and the trailer is pretty great.

Alright...so quick update on this build.
Aside from the 'tinkering' (at least thats what my wife calls it) I've been doing with the 4runner, here is a quick update on some of the larger build items
Version 2.0 of the DIY rear storage solution
On the original version, I used MDF. Over a few years though, the MDF seemed to become brittle and was beginning to warp. I also wanted to have a true drawer instead of sliding in/out a frontrunner wolf pack. This time I decided to use smooth plywood as the build material and sourced some HD drawer slides (unfortunately non-locking type).
I currently use CO2, but wanted to add an OBA system. I used some of the void space to mount the system.
Finished product. I used truck bedliner as the finish
After this latest trip, I'm going to be building in removeable shelfs over the refrigerator

Total Chaos Mid Travel
My front end needed some rebuilding, so what better excuse to dump thousands of dollars into your rig? I debated SAS, mid travel, and full LT, and in the end decided to take the middle ground and go with TC's 2" mid travel kit. It was hard to justify the coin doing a SAS and I didn't think I'd ever really use the rig in a way that would utilize full LT...not a big fan of the fast stuff.
While I had the front end stripped down, I gusseted up the shock towers, burned in HD cam tabs, and FINALLY closed up the body mounts

Full stuff with 35" does rub on the bumper and fender flare slightly.
