Dash LED MOD

I know this has been gone over a few times....but does anyone on the forum custom make the led bulbs to fit in the sockets behind the radio display, hvac controls, gauge cluster??? i would like to swap mine to white??? or if there is a link to a website that sells the LED in a base socket already other than the stealership.

Yes, you can the get LED's that you need for your HVAC display at superbrightleds.com store. Specifically, per emelianenkov:

"Neo 3 LEDs for the knobs, defrost, recirc, and mode/reset, and 2 Neo 4's for the LCD display"

Do they twist right in and work...and how many of each...one of my miles per gallon/ clock lights went out and want to replace them

i believe those 2 are the neo 4's could be wrong. i know the hole for the neo 3's need to be opened up a little, i don't recall having to do that for the main display there

From my experience, the Neo 4 doesn't work in the screen. It fits perfectly but doesn't light up. This has been true for others as well. I would just get a Neo 3 and put it in the plastic stock 4mm bulb holder. Neo 4 did work for me in the 4wd knob though.

neo 4's will work for the screen. i did get like 1 or 2 duds out of 4 from superbright leds but they def do work. i gotta order more now because that extra 1 was for my 4wd knob....also not looking forward to taking all the dash apart again just to get to the 4wd bulb :Cry:

neo 4's will work for the screen. i did get like 1 or 2 duds out of 4 from superbright leds but they def do work. i gotta order more now because that extra 1 was for my 4wd knob....also not looking forward to taking all the dash apart again just to get to the 4wd bulb :Cry:

Mike and I both got white duds... don't think it's coincidence?

mine were white too. one actually worked for a bit then kept going in and out before finally crapping the bed

What happened to both of us was that the LED would light up for half a second when you plugged it in, then crap out. tested the contacts with a voltmeter and came to the conclusion that it wasn't supplying enough voltage to power the led/the resistor was too strong.

Wasn't me ZAK, but, emelianenkov does these mods for members on there dash assemblies.

In my situation, the Neo 4 did not work in the screen but did work in the 4WD knob. The same exact bulb. When it didn't work in the screen I though "oh what the hell might as well try it" and it worked. I changed it back and forth and got the same result every time with 3 or 4 different bulbs.

I got a few Neo4's from Superbrightleds.com that I thought were duds. However, when took an Xacto blade and sort of pried/bent both contacts outward (widened the overall diameter of said LED) on each LED, they ALL worked like a charm. Not a single dud in either white or blue! Just something to consider.

I just need bulbs for the reset/mode screen...I just want to purchasethe right one before spending a bunch of money buying different bulbs trying to figure out which one works lol

A few of my 100+ customers had issues with the white bulbs, but that's why we always order extras! Haha

So would I have better luck with blue leds for my reset/mode display?....and those are neo 4

Superbrightleds has been really good to me about dud LEDs in the past. Just contact them and they'll get ya replacements quick

Also on the website I see the high power look shorter which ones do I get...the high power look to fit better, but want to make sure
