Dash light issues......HELP!

OK. Soooo. I drive a 2005 limited with auto headlights and factory NAV. Driving home tonight, all of the sudden my Nav when bright (daytime brightness), dash lights went bright....pretty much the dash is lit up light normal for daytime driving. Problem is...its night time! Oh, and the headlights work fine. Anybody have an idea what happened? And yes I checked the dimmer switch.

I'm jealous, I wish my dash went full bright at night. Circuit(wire) telling the dash lights to dim has malfunctioned or was cut. I don't know how it works, so I can't comment. Interesting though............... tells me that wanting the option to have "full brightness" at night (dusk) is possible. :hungry:

Trust me when I say that you dont. The lights are super bright and the Nav screen looks liek the sun when its on the daytime setting. I hope it might just be fuse that burnt out.

Well, until you can find what's causing it, dim the lights. Also, when you press "display" on the NAV, press "Night Mode or Day Mode", it should make the white background turn black. Here, you can adjust the brightness of the screen.

Thats the weird thing. There is not an option to change it to day/night anymore like there used to be. It just has an option to turn off/on amination. I might try unpluggin the nav and see if it resets maybe.

OK. So I found that the 10amp "tail" fuse under the dash was blown. When putting in the only spare 10 I had, it instantly burnt up. Any ideas why?

There's an obvious short in the system somewhere and you're gonna have to trace it down. Have you wired anything into the lighting circuit that would cause issues?

Nope. The lights are all stock. I changed out my tail lights a couple years ago to OEM LED tail lights but those are plug and play. Didn't mess with the wiring.

if you have trailer wiring factory or not check to be sure the wiring isnt pinched or connector smashed..... happens alot
