Dashboard Light and Rear Winshield Wiper

Hey guys,
So i just got an '05 4runner SR5. It's going great but I found a few noticeable problems. One I have is that on the dashboard, where it says your average mpg, range, speed, the backlight is out. It's working on the right side where the time is listed, but at the center to the left, it goes pitch black. I'm wondering is this a blown fuse, and maybe a 5$ fix, or do you recommend me taking it to the dealer?

The other one I have is that the rear windshield wiper doesn't wipe when I do the rear window spray. When i pull the switch down, it sprays, but the wipers stay in their normal position. They work otherwise when they are set on low or high, just not on the auto spray position. Got any Ideas as to what the problem is, and how I could fix it?

One of the light bulbs is out behind the LCD display, very common and easy to fix. There are a lot of threads here discussing how to remove the panel and the part# for the bulb.
Not sure on the rear wiper. I know the wiper will not move if the rear window is not fully closed.

Both of my lights were out when I bought my 4Runner a few weeks back and its a simple fix. One bolt and then the panel around the unit "pops" out with a firm tug. I took my bulbs out and took them into the Toyota parts dept to ensure i got the correct ones (on the first visit), and they were only $3-$4 a piece.

Turning the rear windshield wiper/washer knob counter clockwise (towards you) will only activate the washer. If you turn the knob clockwise (away from you) all the way, then it will wash and wipe at the same time.

I would also replace both bulbs even though only one is out. Toyota redesigned the bulbs to make better contact and the new ones do not completely twist all the way in like the old bulbs. But they twist in far enough to make good contact.
