daystar 2.5 " lift .vs revtek 3" lift

i have a 2001 4 runner sr5. i keep seeing daystar and revtek lifts i dont know which one to get the daystar is a 2.5" lift which most people do but i found revtek that does a 3' lift..... any help????

oh can i fit 33' tires with both of these lifts????

I believe (but I'm not entirely sure) that the difference between the two are the materials used for the spacers. I have the Revtek lift but am swapping it out for better stuff. It's been nice to have for the last 6 or 7 months and I have had no issues w/ the lift but I wanted a more plush ride.

The Revtek kit comes complete (even w/ a diff drop). I'm not sure about the price difference but brand new, the Revtek lift is a little more than $300.

BTW, you will not be able to fit 33's w/ this lift unless you do a lot of trimming or go w/ a 1" body lift as well.

huh? why cant he fit 33's (285's) with a 2.5-3" lift?

I don't know. Most have not been able to fit 33's w/o a BL or at least a lot of trimming.

I stand corrected. You can run 33's but you'll rub. I did some searching on yotatech and found this:

"im running about 2.5" up front and about 2.75-3" in the back, with the goodyear 285's and same wheels. dont forget some 285' are different in size than others. youll have slight rubbing in certain areas under normal on road conditions (full crank under slight compression up front) i had to trim the corner of my limited flares up front. havent taken a hammer to the pinch weld area yet though, but i think im gonna change that bolt in that area to a more flush faced one. in the rear, i rub pretty hard under full stuff. nothing major though...but its there. so...

i recently ordered a 1.5" BL from 4crawler. should deal with most of my rubbing issues, since i dont really want to cut more metal outta my fenders. 1" didnt seem enough and 2" seemed too much. also, im really entertaining the thought of ditching my 285's and going up to 305's in the near future."

No, 265s are fine. Some have run 265's w/ no lift and very minimal rubbing.

everyone runs 265s with no lift -- thats stock size!

yea 285's will rub, but as you posted, BL's solve that... ill probably just pount my pinch weld and deal with the rubbing when i step up to 285s...
