Can you tell me if you have the Daystar kit that is pure topout spacers? Or do you have the one that's a combo of preload and topout?

Sorry for the noob question. Just got my 06' sport 4x4 last month, super excited. Looking into lift option compatible with my Xreas system. The daystar looks like a good option.
Now for the question. When I see 2.5/1.5 - is the first number the front lift and the second number the rear lift?
I'm really looking for a leveling kit actually. I don't need the back end up any higher, wouldn't mind much either way. But I'm have trouble finding a kit that is only for the front. I was hoping to go up 2" in the front and leave the back alone.
The lift is mostly to accommodate my new wheels/tires setup that has some rubbing around corners

i see after a few years, guys are still not having problems with the spacer lifts. But does your 4runner see any off road trails? im in a debate on purchasing just the rear kit to level out my 5100s and FJ springs, and i do MILD off-roading, mainly dirt, sand, and small rocks. Nothing that would over flex my car, well at least i haven't been to those trails yet.

No, my 07 hasn't been used for trail use much as I still have my 99 for the rare occasion that i would get to go out on a trail run. I agree that for hardcore trail use, even myself would go with a different approach. For mild use i do think you can go either way. But I still say the the DS spacer lift is the best bang for the buck out there especially for the infrequent off-roader.
I don't have the Daystar, but I have do have the Cornfed 1.0 Aluminum spacer on my '00 Taco. This is preloaded spring spacer not the top plate spacer. There is no noise from the spacer or struts.
The real differences is that the ride is a bit stiffer than stock and it will top out easier. However, I don't have any problems with over travel and the suspension is properly limited by the strut. After over 100K miles and 17 years my CV boots finally gave out although the CV joints are fine. I doubt that has to do with the spacers though, its just 17 year old rubber.
The thing to remember is that springs are metal and will fatigue over time. This results in sag and eventually your lift will diminish. This depends on a lot of factors including how hard you drive/wheel it.

Do you go out on trails every once in a while and rough them up a little and they still perform? I am looking to install a daystar kit myself because I am on a budget.
I also have a little one and another on the way so I wont be out there tearing it up, but I'd like to know that if I decide to do some light trails every once in a while it will be able to handle it.
The adage "buy cheap buy twice" comes to mind and is a concern in this case.

I'm not an off-road type of guy, but I wouldn't hesitate for a second to put the spacers through abuse if I was.
