Daystar Spacer Lift - Need Help

I've gotten as far as I can see to go. I've gotten everything detached, but I can't figure out how to get the shock out. There is some sort of bar that is keeping me from pulling it out far enough to drop it down. Is that called a torsion bar? The upper ball joint thing is attached in this photo, I did that to provide support while I am investigating a fix. I detached it initially.

The bar I'm referring to comes from the left across to the right. Forgive me mechanical stupidity, I don't know the name of these parts. It would appear that bar is a solid piece that goes over to the other front wheel.

Now I only jacked up one side of the vehicle, do I need to jack up both sides to get some play in this thing?

Any advice and thoughts is appreciated. I have an outing scheduled for sunday morning, if I can't get this then I'm just going to put it back together and wait for another day or a paid mechanic.

Thanks

Don't use a spacer lift with that old man emu lift. You're just looking for trouble. Especially with stock upper control arms. And that's your sway bar. It has to be disconnected for that job. Your truck your decision but I think it's the wrong one through and through.

Edit: you have light racing arms but it's still a terrible idea

That's the sway bar. Just disconnect it from the end links and loosen the middle mounts and it should just swing down out of the way

How do you know I have light racing arms? I just bought the vehicle like this.

Could I trouble you to explain a bit further the issue with adding the spacer? I don't want trouble, just wanted to level the vehicle out a bit.

Those are Light Racing UCAs. That's their design. Each manufacturer makes theirs a certain way and they each have a distinct look.

I would highly recommend you take a step back and put the wrench down. You bought a vehicle that has some mods on it (coils, struts, and UCAs in this pic alone, who knows what else was done with it). If you don't know what's on it, you need to figure that out before you do anything to it.

The seller should have disclosed the mods. If not, you should've done your due diligence. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but hopefully being blunt will save you a future headache or seven.

As for adding the spacer: everything in the suspension is connected. If you don't know anything about the concept of suspension geometry (I'm guessing you don't because you didn't know what the swaybar was - again no offense), you shouldn't be messing with your suspension. By adding that spacer, you'll be changing the geometry and certain suspension parts are going to be at bad angles and pulling in bad ways on other suspension parts.

No offense taken. Based on what I had read about other installs, it didn't seem to be a great issue. I'll heed the advice and pull back. Thanks.

That's good to know the control arms are upgrades. The guy I bought it from was pretty well off and used it as a toy... it's not a far cry to hear him nodding and saying "install whatever you think is best". He did disclose the OME stuff, the control arm portion is interesting though.

Thanks again.

I would also keep an eye on the UCAs, those look like an older design which have a bad history for issues. If you mentioned it to SPC (the company that owns LR) they may be able to get you the updated bushings and such.
