Daystar, Spidertraxx, Removed the running boards

So I finally put in my Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift and Spidertraxx a couple weeks ago and decided to take off my running boards this morning. Loving the lift and spidertraxx. My wife drives it to work every day so I didn't know if I should remove the running boards, especially since I just put the lift in. She really likes how it looks without them though so that was good.
Still need to get an alignment done and some new rubber. Probably gonna go with Wrangler Duratracs 265/70/17's- like the look of them plus I can get them at a good price tax free.
I'm not gonna bother doing a write up on any of it because there's already some good ones out there and I don't really need to repeat any of them. I will say one thing though- you don't need a ball joint separator. Just use a hammer. A couple good whacks on the side of the control arm and it'll pop right out. You won't hurt anything.
Anyways, heres a couple pictures.

Congrats! Looks great! Just need some bigger tires now.

New tires coming, but they'll be the same size as whats on there- 265/70/17. Thought about going up to the 285's but I've already had to do some trimming from the rubbing with these tires. I don't know, maybe I can get em to throw the 285's on and see how they'll work.

Looks good - I dig the roof rack setup. Yanking the RB's is like a free lift. I also removed my rear mud flaps to give it a taller look from the back.

Get the BFG ATs u won't regret it

as for the RBs, in case this helps you keep them on since they actually serve a functional purpose... i don't like how much it exposes the dusty steel part without them. looks unfinished.

Thanks. I really dig the bajarack. I've received a lot of compliments on it. I've only seen one other bajarack around town and it wasn't on a 4Runner. I may just have to take the rear mud flaps off now. Like the way yours looks without em.

Actually, given the way I am going to be paying for them I am limited to either Bridgestone/Firestone or Goodyear's. Contemplated the Revo II's since everyone seems to be pretty happy with them, but I've also found that everyone likes the Duratracs also.
I actually made the decision quite scientifically- I pulled up pictures of both tires and asked my wife which ones she liked better. :)
Either way I'm sure I'll be happy.

hahaha, I like your methods. I just put the daystar spacers on my runner and have been looking for tires. I just cant see spending about $900 on tires when mine arent worn yet. I kinda like the look without the running boards, but I just did the lift tonight and I think once the better half and the munchkin try to get in, they will need the boards on there. I'll be keeping an eye on your build in the mean time.

I was worried about my wife still needing the boards, but since Sunday we have found that she didn't use them when getting in as much as she did when getting out. As a matter of fact the first couple times she just about went out face first when she went to put her foot on a step that wasn't there. I think she's finally getting the hang of it though.
My chocolate lab on the other hand gives me this look every time I open the door and tell him to get in. He prefers to step his way up to the back seat instead of flying in like my yellow lab. He can be lazy like that.

haha, i almost took a dive the first time i got out without the step today after my lift install. My girl is 4'10 though, so she uses the step. haha. and the munchkin uses them. my mutt already hates jumping in the back and im worried she will make me pick her up and put her in now. hahaha. it does look really good though.
