Dealer hold back?

What was the MSRP of the 38.5 quote you got? All of the TE in my area have MSRP of around 41-42K so 38.5 is at least 2500 of sticker which I think is a pretty fare deal. You could probably get one a bit cheaper if you wait a while longer. But as some of the people on this thread found out, last month you would have gotten it for an extra 1k off if you had bought in FEB instead of waiting for a deal this month that never came....

The MSRP from the Vehicle Inquiry Report was $41,403, and yeah I think $38,500 was a pretty fair deal considering I was able to get one at all. It's far less than I would have paid for one to be shipped from Hawaii or Colorado and I don't have to worry about the tax man looking for me later. I added a remote start after the fact for $479, but even that was $50 less than invoice and literally added to the sales order 12 hours before the ship delivered her to port.

I'll be honest, if June 30th rolled around and I was still waiting I would have canceled my order and gotten my deposit back. It would have made more sense at that point to wait for the 2011 models. You never know what offers the future might hold and I'll be pissed if they offer the 4Runner in a tan or voodoo blue. But who wants to wait when spring is in the air and forest roads are calling and you have the cash sitting in the bank earning .01% interest?

Yeah thats my thoughts as well. Loans are cheap and savings rates suck. Although I'm only doing 24mo finance.
