Dealer installed running boards

Good on ya. With that pre-sale attitude, I can only imagine what their post-sale service would be like. I'll never understand companies like that.

update to the situation..I backed out of that deal in the middle of last week. While I was getting nowhere with the running boards, I started emailing competitor dealers and found one with my exact truck that was arriving at the start of this week. Not only was their customer service night and day, but they beat the price by another $500. I took delivery Monday and couldn't be happier. I was able to order my running boards this past weekend and they deliver to my home today. I let my original salesman know whey they lost a deal over something so simple. Ill have some pics up tonight depending on when I get time to install them.

thanks for all the advice guys.

Strong work, It's hard to walk away.... I did from one dealer when I bought mine because I did not like their business practices. So much in fact I was glad to pay $200 more at a competing dealership.....

Yeah..it was difficult since I was below invoice on the original truck, but when the other dealer was able to beat it and very upfront I had no regrets about taking my business elsewhere.

It was the first time I truly bought a car over the internet. The deal was done with 5 emails and a few phone calls. The picked me up at the Atlanta airport and once at the dealer it took about 45mins of signing paper work and I was on my way. This is how car buying should be every time.

It seems dealer ignorance hasn't changed much over the years. In 95 the wife and I were shopping for a new truck. We lived in the Phoenix area at the time and went to a new auto mall in Chandler. We went to a Toyota dealer and were met in the lot by a young salesman. He tried to steer us to the used car section. When we stated we were interested in new trucks, he said he didn't think we could afford a new vehicle and again pointed us toward the used area.

We left and drove about 200' to the Nissan dealer who was happy to show us their new trucks. We bought one. We drove back to the Toyota dealer and asked to see the manager. We told him the story and left. As we were walking back to our new Nissan we heard the salesman's name being paged.

We still have that Nissan and I drive it about once a week. It's been practically trouble free with almost 200K miles so far! If the car sales biz is so tough you'd think some of their practices would change.
