Thanks for all the. Advice. Looks like I'll be going on a out of state hunt for it. The worse think was he was emailing me telling me it was ordered and they call me when it arrived. All ready sold my tundra. Now I drive around in work van.
You *do not* have to go out of state to get a 4Runner optioned with "out of region" preferences. All you need is a dealer that isn't full of crap and a deposit. I ordered my 2013 LE with retractable running boards, which are a non-regional preference in my area. I waited just shy of 2 months and it came in exactly how I ordered it. The dealer simply confirmed that a real customer was trying to order it, with real money (to keep dealers from trying to game the system) and Toyota complied.
Anyone that tells you this can't be done is a mouth-breathing idiot.
