Dealer said outer CV boot practically exploded

Went to the dealer for and oil change and to test drive a new runner(for my sister) and tech said CV blew greases all over and i looked and confirmed. My question is that will it be covered under warranty? I have the 7yr/100,000k warranty and its the plus warranty or something cant remember what it is exactly.

Guess I'm not sure what you're asking.... you have the warranty, what does it say?

The Toyota folks should have been able to tell you right away if it is a covered repair item.

Same thing happened to me. I went in for an oil change and got a call that my inner CV boot was torn and the joint was contaminated. They wanted $800. I said that I had the extended warrantee and he said its covered. I even got a free rental vehicle because they needed to order parts.

Thread revival!!!

Any word on if the warranty ended up covering your cv issue? My boot has been leaking the past couple months and it's in the shop now. I have the same "Platinum" warranty and I'm trying to figure our if it's covered. My concern is I have the Bilstein 5100 lift (2-2.5" lift) installed and I'm affraid they'll come back and say they won't honor the warranty because of it.
