Dealer says can't install lift on my 2015 because of Auto Leveling

Lifting a 4Runner with KDSS is a little tricky, but it can be done in a home garage. The tech probably realized that and didn't want to deal with it.

Only reason to do zero point would be if you stretched abs sensor wire & popped vsc , I did & took me 10 min to do it after spending 55$ for new wire .

How did you know you stretched the abs wire and popped VSC? All jokes aside, can you elaborate on "popped" the VSC?

Well long story short , once we stretched abs wire the whole xmas tree went off ! Then after replaced said wire the VCS, ABS lights didn't ! Hence need for ZPC ok ?

Magic, where purchased won' even do lifts. And foothills in burlington will only do A certain brand they use. Rodland even does lifts on new 4R for sale. Maybe they refuse because its not the lift kit they put on and didn't buy my 4R there.

Just rememberd, Foothills use the RevTec, Roland uses Readylift.

Thats correct on the spacers. Plus their lifts are too high for my need and want. Which is why i ordered bilstein to set at 1.75. Still need to call the shop Mistaken suggested. I call belleve just to see their take in KDSS.

Yep, it kicks in with no throttle or brake input... It is a really scary system and will brake hard on one wheel. I've driven many cars with stability electronics in extreme maneuvers (mainly for fun) and this thing is simply spooky when it kicks in. Never thought of taking a 4r to a track to figure it out. That would be a funny looking scene.

This happened to me for the first time today, in the middle of a big curve on a newly-paved road. It came on twice in a row and scared the shit out of me, but I had read your post yesterday and knew it was normal---so thanks!

And you're right: spooky is a good way to describe it.

Called them today. Got the answer I was half expecting, with a little extra I didn't expect. They told me "O" no, can't Lift KDSS, and if you do you have to get rid of the whole KDSS system. He told me one of the master mechanics there has an "09" Sport and had to remove the KDSS to put the Bilsteins on.

What do you bet this service writer confuses XREAS with KDSS?

Bummer, I was hoping they would be able to help. Would be nice to have it done with warranty assurance, I do have have darn near two years left on warranty, but doesn't seem that's going to happen from any dealer in my immediate area.

the dealership doesn't know anything...i had a huge fight with them as they claimed my trail had KDSS and that was an option i wanted...they confused it with crawl control . it was a huge mess that I'm still bitter about, then said they can get me a kdss trail but i have to put another 2k down...it wasn't what we agreed upon...someone apparently got fired over that...

Just a tad OT, but the more I read and the longer I'm on this earth, it never ceases to amaze me what service writers will say just to have something, anything, come out of their mouth. Heaven forbid one says "I don't know sir, but I'll be glad to find out". I feel sorry for poorly informed customers.

Listen to the people on here. There is a ton of info on this site about doing the lift with KDSS yourself. I did it with a friend in his garage with no issues. Print out the directions and i believe there are great pics of what to do with the sway bars. Enjoy the truck.

yeah im sure it could be done some how. but i went base SR5 knowing i was going to scrap the suspension so i didnt want to pay the extra $$ for something that may possibly have to go.
