Dealer valet shifted into low range without trans in neutral

My T-case, when in low range, adds an extremely faint whirring noise to the overall running noise of the truck. Let me emphasize that it is extremely faint. The noise becomes a little easier to hear if you get the speed up, say, to 25 MPH in Low/4th gear.
I've never operated low range in a noisy city environment, but I doubt that it is audible on a busy, noisy city street.

This is what I thought as mine makes the same sound. Two problems I have here though are why anyone would (or could) go 25mph in 4LO and why anyone would do this on a hard surface. Both situations are prohibited according to the owners manual.

Anyone with a VF3AM? Does your tcase make any noise at all when engaged?

Yes, adds an extra purr only when 4wd is engaged. :cowboy:
