I would have jumped on this earlier. I was originally trying to find a place in Joshua Tree but everything was booked. Ending up booking a spot in NorCal.
Were you a corona resident before? That’s my zip code.
Hope you have a great trip.
Was talking with my wife about Death Valley just yesterday, including possibly for Thanksgiving. She's in--so long as we can get a room at The Oasis at Death Valley (the Inn)! 
(I checked. The weekend is already booked.)
I'd be up for a DV trip this winter... just not Thanksgiving (without a room at the Inn for my wife!)

Understood. Would love to join another time. Backcountry camping + Thanksgiving + my wife = small thermonuclear explosion resulting in new Ubehebe Crater...

Tried to make it work but our days won’t align. We’re going to head to Anza Borrego for a quick couple nights Wednesday and Thursday.

I'm planning a trip in Jan 2019 to DV and heading to generally the same areas.
Please post pics and trail conditions when you return so we know what to expect.
We're looking to do Lippencott Road and all the info seems to be hit and miss on the conditions, some say high pucker factor due to the drop off and others say it's a simple dirt road.

They were looking for the springs. Guy had maps, but he just wasn't quite sure exactly where he was when came up on us.

Saline valley was busy for my group, but that's to be expected on a holiday week. Hunter mountain was dead, racetrack wasn't too bad, Lippincott was empty. We had one rig coming up right when we hit the bottom. Goler, Barker, and Butte valley we saw a few vehicles camped out. All said we probably only ran into 20-25 vehicles while we were on dirt across 5 days.
