The whole analogy thing was a bit much. Just say. "You can't pull enough air through the intake to suffice the whole of the engine" and for the exhaust "air don't move fast nuff comin outa ta back en"

I honestly would think that the filter itself would be the greatest bottleneck to the intake. I've heard plenty about the drawbacks of a cold air intake and the k&n filters, but I would still imagine that the quickest way to get bigger gains on the front end would be to improve that piece of it.

I don't really know much about such things though.
