Deck/radio illumination?

So I installed my pioneer deh p7000bt awhile back, this problem never bothered me but I want to fix it now, the only way I can keep my radio on even while driving is keep the headlights on, seriously of o turn
it to off it all
just shuts off. So pretty much the light switch controls whether it's on or off.
I'm deferring now but I know one aide didn't have an illumnatipn wire, so I connected it
to the power wire. Anyone have this problem?

You just messed up your wires. The illumination wire should definitely not be connected to the power wire.

Wow, i can't believe i am not the OP of this thread, i just wired my pioneer the other day and nearly fell over when it was wired correctly.
