denso o2 sensor needed.

I have been trying to get a new o2 sensor for my 92 v6 for months. The Bosch I put in will not clear the code 21. I also have a code 52 but that might be an old one. When the CEL comes on I lose power. It started to come on when I changed valve cover gaskets and left the vacuum hoses unattached. I have fitted the hoses and put in a 2nd hand vsv which broke. The cel went away for a while but came back after i had the battery out. It drives very well when the cel is not on. Can someone in USA send me a new one cos part dealers over there don't mail here! part number is 89465-39485. Any help is much appreciated. I spent 8 months restoring this 4Runner after driving it around Australia and this is the only thing holding it back. Cheers, John.

John:

I did a little digging around. In the U. S., we have an online parts seller known as:

RockAuto Parts Catalog

I've purchased a lot of parts from them. They sell for many makes/models.

At their web site they show Denso O2 sensor 2344052 listed for your vehicle. You can look online to verify this. The part number you provided is a Toyota dealer number - 89465-39485. The Denso number 2344052 matches up with the dealer number. In many cases, Denso is OEM for Toyota. The dealer part number is unique to Toyota and the Denso number is unique to Denso, but in the end, they are likely the same part. You can get a list of other part number/mfgs. that interchange with 89465-39485 at the following web site:

The good news is rockauto.com ships to Australia. I inquired by email about this and received the following reply. I suspect shipping will be high regardless of how you source it. Good luck.

Hello,

Thanks for your question. Yes, we ship to Australia.

Shipping information, including cost and delivery time in business days, can be seen in the Shopping Cart after adding parts to it by clicking the "Add Part" button. Once there are parts in the cart, please enter your postal (zip) code, and select your country from the list of destination countries. (This is a complete list of countries to which we ship.) The shipping charge you see there is the actual cost we will be charged by the carrier to ship your order to you.

Thank you,

Elise

Ok THANKS, The different part numbers really made it difficult. I ordered the 2344052 and installed it today. Driving around I've done freeway kms and city but CEL comes back as soon as I come on and off the pedal. If I turn the engine off and on and just drive straight to 100 kph the CEL will not come on ever. Its only on off accelerating that does it. Strangely the CEL went away for a few weeks with the Bosch in after I did a 250 km drive on the highway then came back on after I removed battery, now it comes on faster than ever, after only 2 minutes of driving. It used to take up to 10 minutes. I believe this problem may have started after I messed with the vacuum lines but I can find no leaks now although there is a slight vacuum sound coming from the middle of the exhaust mani fold. Maybe the PCV underneath? It looks fine. How long should the CEL take to clear? I have removed EFI fuse but no joy.

last night i drove home from work and the cel didn't come on at all. its only 5 kms but still encouraging. car sounds better. cleaned MAF connectors as well cos I read that your not supposed to unscrew the sensor itself on the 3VZE.
