Anyone else's 4Runner get pounded by hail last night? I woke up like 3 times from separate, intense waves of hail - some almost golf-ball sized. Don't have a garage, so was parked outside. The dents are small, but definitely there - to the hood, roof, fenders, and the space between the doors and the roof.

I have comprehensive with a $100 deductible so I think I'm good. Might just replace the hood (if that is offered) and leave the roof/fenders. Damn plastic bumper didn't have a problem, so won't be upgrading that! >:[

That sucks. About 11 years ago we had a bad hail storm roll through Albuquerque. My early 90's Z71 only had a few dents and the bugshield and vent visors were busted. My wife's couple year old civic looked like 20 crack heads took ball peen hammers to it. Good luck getting it fixed.

My condolences! Having been the recipient of a hailstorm in 2011 and another in 2014 that resulted in both my car and my wife's requiring repairs north of $7k both times (that's $7k+ on each individual vehicle), I would offer this advice.

Contact your insurance company quickly and find out where you can take it quickly. The first time we didn't learn that and it took about 5 months to get the vehicles fixed. Second time we asked insurance company for body shops within 200 miles they worked with and we were able to get vehicles fixed in about a month just by taking them about 120 miles out of town (where it didn't hail and people didn't think about taking their hail damaged vehicles).

Also, be careful. My insurance company tried to raise my rates next time policy came due until I pointed out hail damage was comprehensive damage and not my fault...they corrected their error and actually my premiums ended up decreasing!

We got some pretty hail up here in Fort Collins. I was driving home in it, but I think my Camry made it out relatively unharmed. Sorry about your Runner though.

Get as much insurance money as you can, get the hood and any other noticeable parts fixed, and then put the money from fixing the roof into a full length roof rack to cover up the damage. That's what I would do haha

Yeah I called then at 0901 that morning, couldn't do the first appt to see adjuster so the next one is about a week out. As for when it is fixed, I am not too concerned since the damage is not horrifying. Thanks!

Yeah I think I will get hood fixed (hopefully replaced), maybe fenders as well, then not sure about roof. As much as I would love to spend the money on accessories, the economist in me knows that since there are no strings attached to the money, to spend it on that stuff would be like if I were to do it now - which is not something I should do with full-time grad school looming.

got off the phone w/ Geico. Noticed the hail damage yesterday AM on my 4runner from the storm that came through Broomfield and Westminster Thursday evening. Bummed, keep the truck in tip top shape inside and out, but no control over that when on the road with no cover.

Dang! I'm over off Colfax near Monaco and I must have gotten lucky with the hail we've had recently. I'm with you though, it makes me nervous, and it's really disappointing because I used to have a covered car port for the last four years, and my car has aged a lot in the last year from living outside.

I will say that the hail did clean my car pretty dang well though! Oh, and apparently we live in the "Hail Belt" as I was told when I was going to forgo comprehensive coverage when I moved here five years ago.
