Another successful trip to Wheeler Lake in the bag! I love this trail. It's challenging, gorgeous, and the view at the end is hard to beat. The weather was perfect, and I didn't break anything, so it was a good day!

Finally, more lights and sound! I've been waiting to post this until I had everything done... and now I do. So here's an update on my lighting/audio system:

Front now has ditch lights on CBI brackets and a 22" LED bar on the bumper. I welded some simple and easy brackets onto the bumper for the bar to mount.

Rear has a 5" amber LED and a LED cube as a reverse light mounted on my swingout arm. The amber is set on a flash sequence, running through an Arduino hiding in one of the rear interior panels.

Finally, I installed a Paranoid Fab switch panel along with my new JVC headunit! It's a KD-R870BT, and I got it for a pretty good price on sale. It's great to have bluetooth built in finally. The switches are all Contura V, just without the fancy front rocker (custom ones hopefully coming sometime soon).

Also got a little bit of maintenance love recently. Just hit 270k, so new timing belt, water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys, and coolant flush! Runs super smooth now.

Just put a cube on my swing out as well, currently just wired to the reverse lights. I want to get some amber dust lights for my new roof rack and wire them to a switch and maybe some kind of flasher!

Another small update: added an aux fuse box and made a simple bracket for it. With all of the new lights, each being individually switched and fused, a big mess was made. This cleaned it up quite a bit. Still could be better, but I like how this works so far. It's a simple Hella 8-fuse splash-proof box, so I've got plenty of room for future needs too.

Finally swapped to LEDs for the dash! So happy I did, the difference is incredible. Plus, I had the majority of the climate control lights out, so having all of the lights again is always nice. Picked them all up from SuperBrightLEDs for about $26.



The cool white is amazing, I love it! Super clean look.

On the second day we went and wheeled Grizzly Lake. It has a crazy gatekeeper to it, where every single one of us had to winch over, but after that the trail was moderate and lots of fun. Another incredible lake view at the top/ end of the trail.

On Sunday, I met up with my buddy and headed to Telluride for the next few days. We did some mountain biking (first time downhilling at Telluride), and made sure to do Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass again.

We managed to hit both trails in one day, starting in Telluride and doing Imogene to Ouray, then Black Bear back to Telluride.

This trip puts my number of nights camped this summer at somewhere around 16. It was awesome!
I think we've started a tradition of going to Telluride every summer now, so... until next year!

I've still been pretty busy with school and all, but I made some time to get out and go see the fall colors this weekend. My two friends and I went to run Argentine Pass again, and were hoping to not be blocked by snow this time. We still ran into some snow at the same spot as before, but it was not nearly as bad, and we were able to make it to the top. It seemed like we hit the aspens right at their peak, it was incredible!

Great pictures! I'm going to start from the beginning this morning and check out everything that went into this. Last trip looks awesome! I love where I live - the only thing I miss is the water. Lots of awesome but dry trails around here.

Thanks Miller! I appreciate it! It's been a long time coming, but it's been worth it. The trails around here are incredible- I can't imagine living anywhere else.
